Happy Birthday Chris Rock! You’re Making Black History! 

I LOVE this nigga! I think he has a good way of making points about society in joke form.

When Rock’s acting career bombed in the early 90s he went on the road and honed his act. The comedy club boom was dead and clubs were closing, hardly anybody was touring at the time. Except Chris Rock. By 1994 he was taping comedy specials and on his way to reinvigorating his career.

He basically kept stand up comedy alive in the 90s. He was a superstar comic in a time when stand up was in a dead period. He’s just one of the absolute best stand up comedians to ever do the craft. He’s insanely smart and tuned into what is happening in the world, and makes no qualms about bringing shit up that people tend to look away from.
